The Ridge Community High School Graduating Class of 2021 is scheduled to celebrate this momentous occasion on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 7pm at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
At this time, families should plan on no more than 4 tickets for the in-person ceremony. However, please note, due to the ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 Pandemic, all plans are subject to change. Please stay tuned to the RCHS App, website and social media channels for most up to date information.
We will be testing all of our 10th grade students (eSchool and Campus) with the PSAT test on Thursday 10/29.
Students who are not testing will remain in their 1st period block until testing concludes. Lunches will be directed via a coordinated schedule with admin and teachers. Students can expect to attend only 1st period and 7th period on Thursday. Students who are testing should check their MyPolkSchools email for their testing location to expedite the check-in process. eSchool students coming to campus should arrive no earlier than 7am and no later than 7:10am, and will arrive through the bus loop near building 2. Masks are required and a temperature check will be conducted. Please do not bring your laptop, as this is a paper based exam and no technology is required.
10th grade students who need their Algebra 1 EOC graduation requirement have the opportunity to earn this with a score of 430 on the math section of the PSAT. All students are encouraged to do the very best they can on this test.
For those 9th, 11th and 12th grade students, we appreciate your cooperation during this massive testing day to accommodate the opportunity for our 10th grade class. For students testing, if you have any questions about the test, please reference your testing letter sent to your student email by Dr. Soto-Huertas.
Steps for Dual Enrollment
If you have already completed steps #1 and #2 move on to #3
Step 1: Complete the free online application at polk.edu This must be done as soon as possible. It typically takes three to five business days for you to receive an email from Admissions with your Polk State ID and other information. If you do not receive anything email me at email@example.com
Step 2: Complete Polk State’s online orientation https://www.polk.edu/admission-aid/admissionsteps/student-orientation/ You will be unable to register for classes if this is not completed. It takes Polk State 3 - 4 days to see that it has been done. Take a screen shot at the end of the quiz in case it is needed to prove completed.
Step 3: Go to https://delta.polk-fl.net/login - Log in through the link above (using the student portal username and password). Click the “Contact Info” button and provide a phone number and/or email address. Click the “Course Requests” button. Click the “Add New College” button and select “Polk State College” for the college name, select the Term. Select Steve Haun as the Guidance Counselor. Click the “Add Now” button. Student agrees to general terms of District Dual Enrollment and Polk State College by reading and checking the 2 boxes and clicking the “Submit Approval” button.
Step 4: Students will be doing remote PERT testing for the spring semester. There will be no on campus testing. You will also have to have your Polk State ID number to test. Students from the fall semester may be subject to test.
Step 5: Contact Mr. Haun (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the courses you would like to take. We offer courses on campus (below) or you could take classes with Polk State. Here is a guide for choosing classes outside of Ridge. http://catalog.polk.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=36&poid=2001&hl=%2211000%22&returnto=search

As the temperature cooled down, and the stadium lights warmed up, a small, masked up and socially distanced crowd began to form at Bolts Stadium. Sure, they were there to watch the BOLTS tear up the turf against Lennard High School, but they were also there to celebrate our annual Homecoming tradition! Without a formal dance this year to sum up the weeks festivities, our ceremony on the field was a crowning moment (pun intended)!
Our senior Homecoming King nominees were: Ethan Mitchell, Omari Raiford, Angel Rodriguez-Portillo, Dennis White, Levi Young and Samuel Zimero.
Our senior Homecoming Queen nominees were: Melanie Berrios Morales, Kaliah Bowland, Solymar Cintron, Mackenzie Dunn, Chanda Mwelwa and Asia Santiago.
Under the bright lights, at approximately 6:55pm, our Homecoming King, Dennis White was crowned. Shortly thereafter, our Homecoming Queen, Kaliah Bowland, took her throne!
Congratulations to our underclass court representatives:
